This week I had the privilege of attending Mark’s very first public speaking event in Campbelltown. For those who know Mark, you’ll already be aware of his passion for sport and community, and how he continues to inspire as a football player and ambassador for people with an ability.
As a proud sponsor of Mark’s journey, it was an honour to stand beside him as he embraced this new challenge—stepping onto the stage to share about a project that is close to his heart: Fastlane’s “Special Speeds for Special Needs.”
This unique initiative takes place on Wednesday mornings by booking only, and is designed specifically for people with a disability to experience the thrill of go-karting in a safe and supportive environment. But it’s more than just karting. It’s about building confidence, developing life skills, and creating opportunities for social connection—all through the joy of speed and sport.
Mark’s presentation was a powerful reminder of the importance of providing inclusive experiences that celebrate ability. With the support of community leaders such as Councillor Warren Morrison, Mark is carving a new path as an ambassador, not only for sport but also for meaningful opportunities that enrich lives.
I left the event feeling inspired by Mark’s courage and deeply grateful to be part of his journey. This is only the beginning of what promises to be an incredible new chapter for him—and for the many lives touched by his advocacy.
